Abstract: Advancements in nanotechnology and high-tech materials have enabled the development of multifunctional composites using CNTs for future intelligent structural health monitoring. The development of CNT-based sensors, which are sensitive to external stimuli, holds the potential to play a pivotal role in enhancing structural reliability and reducing maintenance costs by enabling immediate detection of load occurrences. This paper presents an experimental study on the fabrication of a CNT/PU sheet and its performance evaluation in compression and impact load sensing. The CNT/PU sheet was fabricated by applying screen printing technology to uncured CNT/PU ink. Optimization of the screen-printing technique was achieved by comparing printing images at various CNT concentrations and by analyzing the rheological properties of the CNT/PU ink at different CNT concentrations. The fabricated sheet exhibits electrical behavior changes when subjected to compression and impact loads. Additionally, an IoT system was developed to advance the CNT/PU sheet as a future intelligent structural health monitoring system. The IoT system measures electrical changes in a 4 × 4 array of the CNT/PU sheet and demonstrates visual monitoring techniques upon the occurrence of compression and impact loads.
