Abstract: Biochar, recognized for its eco-friendly nature, efficiency, recycling potential, and affordability, has gained significant traction as an adsorbent. The adsorption properties of biochar are profoundly influenced by the choice of biomass source and the specific pyrolysis conditions employed. Among these pyrolysis conditions, temperature assumes a pivotal role in shaping the unique properties of biochar. Consequently, optimizing the pyrolysis parameters becomes essential to achieve maximum yield. This study is focusses on a comprehensive exploration of the influence of activation temperatures on the pore structures and adsorption capabilities of activated biochar derived from soft pine. Our research involves a rigorous examination, encompassing the determination of adsorption isotherm profiles, pore size characteristics, and surface areas. Through these investigations, we aim to explain the relationship between pyrolysis temperature and the resulting properties of biochar. This knowledge will provide valuable insights into enhancing the effectiveness of activated biochar as a sustainable and efficient adsorbent.
